What I’m Working On (And Why My Coffee Is Always Refilled)

If you’ve ever wondered what’s happening behind the scenes at Devae Hickman… the short answer is: a lot. The longer answer? Stories, soul work, and a little bit of beautiful chaos.

Right now, I’m deep in three very different but somehow connected projects.

First, I’m working on a new book about building an anchor in your relationship with Christ. Not surface-level encouragement. Not performance faith. But the kind of quiet, steady anchor that holds when the waves hit. The kind you build in private so you don’t unravel in public.

At the same time, I’m developing a book on journaling. Not “dear diary.” Not aesthetic perfection. But honest pages. Ink that holds your prayers, your questions, your anger, your gratitude. A place to think without interruption. A place to hear yourself again.

And then there’s the audio world, my YouTube series. Long-form storytelling. Dramatic arcs. Vampires, loyalty, betrayal, devotion. The kind of stories you listen to while the house is quiet and the coffee is hot. The kind that make you feel something.

There are other things too outlines growing quietly, worlds expanding, characters refusing to behave. But that’s part of the joy.
